It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my first Dobermann! Please read more about Raven at our Rainbow Bridge page. Raven is a tough minded, highly driven dog with just a little bit more attitude than is probably good for her! She is a keen scenting dog with a determination to get the job done! She achieved her CKC Tracking Dog title at the age of 19 months, her CKC Tracking Dog Excellent title at 2 1/2 years of age and achieved the goal of being a civil Search and Rescue Dog in April 2000! It has been a lot of work but very rewarding. She has high drives in both defense and prey, and she is a wonderful protector of our property and our family! Her loves include swimming, retrieving, running(and jumping) the obstacle course, "finding" her favorite toys, and of course bite work and tracking/scenting. Her least favorite things are obedience (which she does, if a bit reluctantly) and baths! The focus of Raven's training has always been civil style and they have led to her great achievements! |

UPDATE April 2000! Well it has been a week of triumph and tragedy! On Wednesday, April 5th, 2000 we got a report from the OFA that stated that Raven has mild Hip Dysplasia. On Tuesday, April 11th, 2000 Raven passed her RCMP Search and Rescue Certification. Although our vets feel it's unlikely that Raven will develop clinical Dysplasia, it does mean that she will not be part of our breeding program! It's heartbreaking that this beautiful, hard working dog will not be passing on her traits, but we will not re-create the heartache we are going through right now! |
