We almost always recommend group training over private lessons. Some of the reasons for that are; in a class situation there are lots of distractions, therefore there are lots of opportunities to correct problems. We are told all the time "my dog works great until it sees another dog!" Also when you're training in a group situation you are able to witness a variety of problems, and training techniques to correct those problems. Therefore you are armed with experience you won't anticipate needing, but will find yourself recalling down the road or with another dog. The dog is a very social animal and whether he behaves well with other dogs or not, still requires the opportunity to interact with others of his species. Besides, we train dogs to behave with other dogs.

Now the reasons we do private lessons are: to provide you an opportunity to learn some skills and techniques,enabling you to get the respect from your dog. To give you confidence that you can handle your dog in a class setting, whether you have a very excitable dog that you feel is out of control or an aggressive dog that is a danger to society. We can give you the skills and confidence to begin the training process. It is still highly recommended that you do the proofing in a class situation, but it can be very comforting to come into a class well armed and ready!
We also offer Private Lessons to people who work shift work, struggle with health problems, transportation problems and the like. If you don't feel you can commit to an 8 week program, Private Lessons could be the answer for you! We also offer "drop-off training" for your dog, where you leave him with us for an hour, a day or several weeks! Prices for that program are discussed during a consultation to determine what exactly you want or require for your dog.

Private lessons are usually one hour long, they may or may not include an additional skilled handler and dog as a demo/distraction dog. Private Lessons are $45.00 plus HST. per hour and we recommend that you travel to us as we can provide everything needed on our site. ( Training tools, obstacle course, dogs and distractions, etc.) We will travel to you for an additional charge.
